november, wrapped
November has been quiet this year… very quiet… more so than last year (I was checking my books last week and I am about 30% down on bookings). There has been so much uncertainty though that this is hardly suprising, the speculation regarding the economy and taxation has been rife with leak after leak coming out of the UK Treasury that has just put the fear into everyone. The budget is done now though and, from where I am standing, it doesn’t look too bad. Not great… but not bad (unless you live in a £2 million plus pile that is) so hopefully things will start to wake up now. Although with Christmas fast approaching I am not anticipating any great shakes until January is underway! I kind of wish they went back to an annual budget rather than every 6 months as it puts too much uncertainty into the minds of the public!
So not a great month then, but it was okay, and next month is starting fairly strong with the bookings already in place - it won’t be brilliant I don’t suspect with the holidays looming large - but if I can get 2 good weeks early on then that isn’t too bad and I can pin all my hopes on January!
I am planning to refocus for 2026 though - my commercial work is going to concentrate much more on purely property work, I am not going to be turning anything else down… but I want to put my efforts mainly into consolidating where I am at now and will probably have a bit of a website refresh to reflect this. On the flip side I really want to start working hard on the fine art landscape parallel business - Wayward Spirit Studio - as I have some serious ambitions to get that off the ground and growing over the coming year!
For now - some photos from this week.
