February… The Dull
I have been a bit tied up over the last couple of weeks, so sorry about the lack of updates. It’s been pretty miserable weather wise for a while now - there has been the odd sighting of the sun, which is somewhat better than other regions in northern Scotland, but it has not been great. Dry… but dull. So much so that the levels in Loch Ness are only 10cm above their all time minimum and I am somewhat nervous about the warmer part of the year as a result (we are not on mains water here after all).
Work has been good though, January ended well and the first week of February continued the theme with me hitting my targets nicely. The coming week… well it’s a bit sparse just now… but I only need 4 more jobs in and we are looking good. I am hoping that the second half of the month sees a big uptick in activity though as we start to push towards that all important spring market.
I have shot so much in the last fortnight that I don’t think I am going to put a gallery up of the last 2 weeks worth of work today - instead I am going to pop up a “work in progress” with my landscape hat on! I am working on a scene at the moment that I have been after for some time, but with my current foot injury still lingering I can’t trudge out to it with the big camera, so I have been working on composition using the drone as I get my ideas together. I don’t think I quite have everything where I want it yet though, but this shows me that there is a composition there.

The lack of sunshine is having a noticeable impact on my mental state though, I could use a little sunshine just to recharge! The supplements seem to be helping with the injury though, which is a good start, and I bought some wide fit Merrell shoes and Superfeet Green insoles and since starting to wear those a few days ago the pain has certainly subsided and movement is getting easier. I am hoping that this coming week should see me a bit more mobile again as I want to get out and work both this and some other scenes a little more whilst I still have that bleak landscape of winter as a back drop.
