May Day

It has been a pretty good week again, so much so that I am thinking that this year I may set my sights a good bit higher for what I consider a successful month compared to the last financial year! Infact… I may double it! Last year’s aim was to achieve minimum wage for a “normal person” before expenses and that we smashed to the point I think I probably made minimum wage after expenses! I think of the 2024-2025 year as my break through into a sustainable business really - and this year I want to build on that!

Usually I would have been rambling on about all this stuff at the end of March, but I have had a few irons in the fire over the last few weeks as I try and build on the successes of last year. I started working with Home Sweet Home in February 24, which took a couple of months or so to gel into a great working relationship between us both. By chance we started to gain work from Bell Ingram over the summer and a few odds and ends came along as one offs or semi-regular repeat business for some others building into a nice workload with the agency stuff which has, to be honest, diminished considerably over the last 18 months or so… but I still needed it to just top things up, particularly in the slow months.

So roll on another 6 months and we have Macleod and MacCallum coming onboard for aerial and videography work, judging by previous new clients I suspect that it will take a few months of working together to fall into a pattern and see how much this brings in, but the first jobs are lined up for next week which is giving 3 on just the most basic package… if that came through each week I would actually be pretty happy as it would make a noticeable impact to the point that the agency work really could just be dropped entirely. There are also odd jobs still from other agencies on a one off basis and AirBnB have approached me to do some work with them too.

As it stands then, this year is looking like a great year of solidifying what we have achieved so far and building on those foundations gradually - I do worry that things may get too busy mind… and whilst I like being busy I enjoy a little down time now and again! So I think we will sit and run with this roster for the next 6 to 12 months and see how things develop before chasing any new work pro-actively… of course if anything just happens to fall into my lap I would be daft to say no!

Anyway - here are a few from this last week, along with a mash up video of work done on film.
