Where is the Slowdown?
Another frantic week of work, which is made all the more challenging with limited childcare options - but we managed to muddle through! Next week is, currently, looking a little easier to organise.
I have spent most of this week, outside of work shoots, trying to get On1 RAW to work properly… and failing. On the desktop it is horribly slow - I think it is trying to do something behind the scenes which causes it to really drag so I will try and switch that all up tomorrow perhaps. On the laptop it runs great except it crashes. A lot. Which is making it very hard to do anything meaningful with. When it does work, though, it is quite an interesting bit of software so I shall persevere. What is frustrating is that I had thoughts about a Windows ARM based desktop to replace the current machine - but I am starting to rethink that due to the problems I am facing using the Snapdragon based laptop. I won’t be changing anything until probably springtime at the soonest so it may resolve before then - but right now the x86 approach to system on chip computing looks probably the more enticing route.
I have totally failed to build any low res galleries this week again, so I will just sign off with the one photo for the week.
