February… A Strong Finish

That is February done… the month I find the hardest in terms of weather (which is often poor) and if, as this year, work is thin on the ground… finances too! Christmas and Hogmanay have been and gone and left the cupboards bare and if January has been a particularly slow month then funds are pretty much out for this last real month of winter. If work is slow through February as well then the panic starts to set in!

Fortunately this year we had a really strong last week of the month, so March is looking a little less worrying than it was a few days ago! That said, the first week of March is currently looking fairly quiet. I have had an okay day today and looks like I will have a little more through the week, but I don’t think I am hitting any targets for the next 7 days! I am not going to worry yet though, even on busy months I tend to find the first week is very calm, then the pressure builds towards the last week which is usually crazy as agents book in job after job to push themselves up the industry rankings!

So today I have been off to the Black Isle to start off the day to shoot this lovely (currently 2 bed… but with an attic conversion 60% done to make it a 4 bed) with some very friendly collie dogs that I had to talk to for at least a little while…

From here it was back over to the south side of Loch Ness to Foyers (via a quick stop at the garage to see if and when my car would be repaired… Wednesday or Thursday is looking most likely - so the little Aygo will be with me a little while longer!). I shot a house in this same block last year so it was nice to come back and do another. They are ex-local authority properties but have a really nice feel to them… I could imagine living here myself (perhaps in a few years time mind rather than now… I think the boys would find it a little too compact and bijou!)

Other than that, the onboarding process with the new agency is complete so I shall wait and see what that brings in! I need to update a load of portfolio photos on that site too as I just popped some that were to hand in to get started, and also add photos into other disciplines to get a broader range of work coming in. If I can make this all work then 25/26 could see things really ramp up!
